They’ve had three wars there from the years of their independence. Ian Ramon was the first Israeli astronaut in space. The word Israel comes from an Egyptian stele. Israel has seven million people and more than half are Jewish. The country is Jewish mostly and there might be some other religions. Israel has over 177 billion dollars. The six-day war was between Israel and its Arab neighbors like Egypt, Jordan, and Syria with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Algeria. Pressure from the USA and Soviet Union made Israel withdraw its military from the Sinai Peninsula.

Questions:

First, a small correction - it was Ilan Ramon, not Ian.

I haven't really thought about going to the army much. Everyone does it, and so I guess I might as well ask you how it feels not to be drafted.

Most Israelis wear western clothes. Orthodox Jews are an exception - you can google for images.
