The State of Israel is a country in the Middle East. The State of Israel declared its independence in 1948, on May 14th, (5708, 05 lyar). The State of Israel was created to decrease the violence between the Jewish and the Arab people. The Palestine Mandate, a plan of dividing the territory into two parts, caused this violence. Zionism and the Holocaust were big contributions to the creation of the State of Israel. Zionism pressed the concept that the Jewish people rightfully belonged in the land of Israel. Zionism continues as a support system to the government and state to insure that Israel maintains the position as the homeland of the Jewish people.

Israel is the only Jewish state, making it very unique. It also is the only country in the Middle East considered a liberal democracy. It is one of the youngest countries and holds the largest population of Jewish people. Israel frequently experiences attacks by neighboring Arab territories and has had many wars in its short time as a country. There has always been tension and conflicts because of religions between the Jewish and the Arab people. They are almost continuously fighting off territories to save there land witch is why there have been so many wars.

One of the many strengths Israel has is there army. It is essential that they have a fierce army to protect their territory from the many attacks they endure. One of the biggest weaknesses is the geography id Israel. The neighboring countries of Israel lack financial status. Israel is behind in technology and is trying to advance.

My personal opinion with the history of Israel is that they should come they should try to make peace with the Arab people. I still don’t quite understand why they are attacked so often. I think that Israel is very different from the U.S. by technology, climate, religions, and the status of their security. They U.S. does not constantly have to fight to keep our country and Israel shouldn’t either.

Israel is the world’s only Jewish state. Israel declared its independence in 1948.
The name "Israel" is rooted in the Hebrew Bible, Genesis 32:28, where Jacob is renamed Israel after successfully wrestling with an angel of God. Over seven million people live in Israel today. The capital is Jerusalem and seat of government. Israel is the only country in the Middle East considered to be a liberal democracy. Also, Israel is considered the most advanced in the region in terms of econimic competition, freedom of press, business regulations and overall human development. The first historical record of the word "Israel" comes from an Egyptian stele documenting military campaigns is dated to approximately 1211 BCE. Jewish tradition holds that the Land of Israel has been a Jewish Holy Land for four thousand years. Israel has been in three main wars since its independence but has had many conflicts.Israel does not have a constitution but does have a set of Basic Laws which there are presently fourteen, intended to form the basis of a future constitution. Most Israelis (males and females) are drafted into the military at the age of 18. Also immigrants sometimes volunteer to join the IDF. There is much speculation regarding the nuclear capabilities of Israel, estimates suggest that the Israeli arsenal may contain as many as 400 nuclear weapons. Tourism in Israel includes a rich variety of historical and religious sites in the Holy Land, as well as modern beach resorts, heritage tourism, archaeological tourism, and ecotourism. Israel has two official languages: Hebrew and Arabic. Hebrew is the major and primary language of the state and is spoken by the majority of the population.

Israel is a country in the Western Asian Levant on the edge of the southeastern Mediterranean Sea. Israel borders Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. Israel declared its independence in 1948. It is the world’s only Jewish state. Jerusalem is the capital city and the seat of government. Israel is one of the many countries in the Middle East but the only one considered to have liberal democracy. Israel is the most advanced in the region for economic competitions, business regulations, freedom of press, and overall human development. For four thousand years Israel has been a Jewish holy land and a promised land. Israel holds in Jewish religious obligations, encompassing Judaism’s most important sites. Sites such as the first and second temple are extremely important religious icons for Jewish people. The first of a series of Jewish kingdoms and states established intermitted rule over the region that lasted more than a millennium, starting around the eleventh century.

Jewish immigration grew steadily after the late nineteenth century and took on added meaning, and gained added external support, in the wake of the Holocaust. The UN General Assembly approved the 1947 UN Partition Plan dividing the territory into two states, with the Jewish area consisting of roughly 55% of the land, and the Arab area consisting of roughly 45%. Jerusalem was to be designated as an international region administered by the UN to avoid conflict over its status.
In 1947, following increasing levels of Arab-Jewish violence and general war-weariness, the British government decided to withdraw from the Palestine Mandate. Jewish nationalism and messianism led to Zionism, a movement to re-create a Jewish nation in the Land of Israel. Jewish immigration grew steadily after the late nineteenth century and took on added meaning, and gained added external support, in the wake of the Holocaust.
Barak initiated unilateral withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000. This process was intended to frustrate Hezbollah attacks on Israel by forcing them to cross Israel's border. Barak and Yassir Arafat once again conducted negotiations with President Clinton at the July 2000 Camp David summit. However, the talks failed. Barak offered to form a Palestinian State initially on 73% of the West Bank and 100% of the Gaza Strip. In ten to twenty-five years, the West Bank area would expand to 90% (94% excluding greater Jerusalem). Arafat rejected this deal.
Israel survived a lot of economic downturns in the history of Israel. A tourism crisis was a result of political turmoil and economic recessions. It is far from many markets and it is a big challenge because of where Israel is located.
Israel and the U.S. are both countries. Israel is a lot smaller than the U.S. The high-tech industry is geographically close together. Israel is a strategic ally, and that U.S. relation with Israel strengthens, the U.S. presence in the Middle East.

Israel was official a created in 1948. It was made so that the Jews would have a place to call their home. The first day they declared a country that where attacked by all their neighbors. The major religion in Israel is Judaism. The official language is Hebrew. It is a historic land it has a lot of important things for a lot of different religions, and a lot of people go there to find their way or their God to help them get through the rest of their life. Their military is different than the U.S. In the U.S you have choice, in Israel they don’t have a choice they have to go to the army. It has one of the best-funded military forcers in the Middle East. They have a parliamentary democracy. It gets a lot of money from tourism and the business that move there. They have an estimated 400 nuclear weapons. They have very good science careers in Israel.

Israel is a country that was created on May 14, 1948. Within less than twenty-four hours Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq attacked the new country. The war had lasted for fifteen months and with that they had lost six thousand Israeli lives. After the war the country had started to build their little country and starting to find their country leader. The Israeli had elected David Ben-Gurion as president. On May 11, 1949 Israel had became the fifty-ninth member of the United Nations.

The country is where most of the Holocaust survivors had come if they had reached the shores. By the end of 1951 Israel’s population had doubled for the Jewish population. Not every one who was Jewish went to live in Israel. Most of them stayed all over the world, especially in the US.

With all this the young country has already been in three major wars one of which only lasted six days. Israel only lost about six thousand men. As for their rivals they lost many more than the Israeli’s. Another one of the fights was because Israel is supposed to be a holy land and every one else had wanted their land to have for their own. When the other countries came to try and take their land they didn’t realized that the Israel’s had one of the best military in the world, and would be able to keep their land.

The state of Israel was formed on May 15, 1948. But since May of 1946, it has been faced with many issues. In 1946 it was proposed the immigration of 100,000 Holocaust survivors to the land of Palestine. The British, who held the command for Palestine, though, dismissed the idea. This caused the Jewish Agency headed by David Ben-Gurion to encourage Jewish resistance groups to rebel against and pressure the British into accepting the idea. Finally, the British decided that too many troops and too much money were needed to stop the Jewish groups so they decided to give the power of Palestine to the United Nations on February 18, 1947. A group of the United Nations, specially formed to work on this area, suggested on May 15 of the same year, to separate Palestine into different Arab and Israeli states. On November 29, 1947 the idea was accepted.
The day after the State of Israel was formed, the surrounding Arab states met and attacked. The war was won by the barely formed Israeli army, but took about a year. This was known as the War of Independence. It ended with 6,000 Jewish casualties, both civilians and soldiers.

Israel has seven million people and more than half are Jewish. The country is Jewish mostly and there might be some other religions. Israel has over 177 billion dollars. The six-day war was between Israel and its Arab neighbors like Egypt, Jordan, and Syria with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Algeria. Pressure from the USA and Soviet Union made Israel withdraw its military from the Sinai Peninsula.

Israel was created in 1948 in the Middle East. During it’s long history, its area, population and ownership varied greatly. The present state of Israel formally occupies all the land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean ocean, bounded by Egypt in the south, Lebanon in the north, and Jordan in the East. The recognized borders of Israel constitute about 78% of the land. Actually, Israel was created as a result of the League of Nations Mandate of 1922, which granted a mandate to Great Britain to create a "National Home" for the Jews in Palestine. This right was based on the right to self-determination, a right shared by all peoples. After WW I Britain took control of Palestine, but there were many troubles between the Arabs who lived there and Jews who wanted to live there too. After the World War II, Britain decided to let the United Nations decide what to do with Palestine. The United Nations suggested separating Palestine into two countries, one Arab and one Jewish. Israel seems like a real good country to live in except for all the wars.

Israel was created in 1948. Well not really that is when Israel declared independence. Israel was created so the Jews had a nation to call their own after WWII. With only 60 years under Israel's belt, Israel had 3 wars. These wars happened because the surrounding nations were muslim and the muslim people were against having a Jewish homeland. Plus the muslim nations didn't want to share Jerusalem with any other nation and now that there was a new nation to share it many people in surrounding countries were unhappy. My opinion about Israel is the people who started or "created" Israel were brave and did the right thing. Israel has been an important friend to the United States.

May 14th 1948 was the day that Israel was created. Israel declared independence on 14 May 1948, but the Jewish calendar is lunar and the holiday may occur in April or May. Israel was created as a result of the League of Nations Mandate of 1922, which granted a mandate to Great Britain to create a "National Home" for the Jews in Palestine. This right was based on the right to self-determination, a right shared by all peoples. Israel is a unique and fascinating country of startling beauty, with so much for you to see and discover. History and tradition, spectacular scenery and wild desert landscapes. Superb resorts, golden beaches, beautiful and interesting towns and cities all combine to give you a holiday of a lifetime. During the Six-Day War of 1967, Israel captured the West Bank from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Golan Heights from Syria, Gaza Strip (which was under Egyptian occupation), and Sinai from Egypt. It withdrew all troops and settlers from Sinai by 1982 and from the Gaza Strip by September 12, 2005. The future status of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip remains to be determined. East Jerusalem has been under Israeli civil law, jurisdiction and administration since 1967and the Golan Heights since 1981, though they have not been formally annexed.

The year 1948 was the year in which Israel was created and officially declared independence. The main issues that surrounded Israel vary from religion, immigration, and following: war(s). Jewish tradition holds that the Land of Israel has been a Jewish Holy Land and Promised Land for four thousand years, since the time of the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob). The land of Israel holds a unique and particular position in Jewish religious obligations, enclosing Judaism's most important sites. Including the two versions of the temple that are religiously significant rights, these connected, stand for the origin of many aspects of modern Judaism. The use of the term Israeli to refer to a citizen of Israel was decided by the Government of Israel in the weeks immediately after independence and announced at the time by Foreign Minister Moshe Shertok. Jews living in the Diaspora have sought to migrate (immigrants) into Israel throughout the centuries. Through the years, including 1141 all the way up to the late 1800’s and almost into the early 1900’s, immigration was an enormous happening. Following the State of Israel's establishment, the armies of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon declared war on Israel and began the second phase of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. At the beginning of June, the UN declared a one-month ceasefire during which the Israel Defense Forces were officially formed. After numerous months of war, a ceasefire was declared in 1949 and temporary borders, known as the Green Line, were instituted. Israel had gained an additional 23.5% of the Mandate territory west of the Jordan River. To this day Israel still has on-going issues and further situations from years ago, similar to other countries and/or nations.
